On Friday 3rd May 2019, Kassidy Arkle (10) and Matthew Bourke (11) competed in The Plain English Speaking Competition.
The Plain English Speaking Award aims to encourage the use of clear and effective spoken English. Since its inception in 1978, the competition has provided an invaluable opportunity for NSW senior students to improve their confidence and to develop their speech-writing and public speaking skills. Students competing presented both a prepared speech which went for eight-minutes and an impromptu speech; they received three minutes of preparation time to write their impromptu speech on the topic of "If only...". Both Kassidy and Matthew competed well.
